Muir statues are existentialist mascots that explore the relationship of man to ground, landscape and nature. Seven thoughtful, slender figures have heavily worked surfaces and hand eroded edges that suggest nature when seen from a distance. Elongated lines and impasto surfaces soften and blur the boundary between the object and the space that surrounds it. The overall effect is a shimmering illusion of motion that captures the feeling of many 20th century post-war artists. Gilded metal.
